Department of English and American Studies and Institute of Literary and Artistic Communication at Department of Ethics and Aesthetics invite you to contribute papers to the annual Literary colloquium, this time on the topic: Charting the Future: Identities, Narratives, and Creativity in Literature, Film, and the Arts.
The hybrid event will take place on 11-12 November 2025.
We invite papers that address, but are not limited to, the following themes:
– Envisioning the Future: Science Fiction and Speculative Narratives
- – Literary Utopias and Dystopias: Dreams and Nightmares of Tomorrow
– Literature as a Tool for Future Societal Change
– Digital Literacies and the Future of Writing and Reading – What kind of future does literature have?
– Artificial Intelligence and the Creation of New Literary Forms
– Electronic Literature vs. Computer Games as Literary narratives
The length of the papers should be about 20-30 minutes.
Deadline for submissions: 31 October
We warmly welcome both in-person and online participation – international scholars and researchers who are unable to travel are encouraged to join the event virtually.
Selected papers presented at the colloquium can be considered for publication in the peer-reviewed journal Ars Aeterna. Please note that there is no participation fee for the event.
